How can I get a MAC address?

What is a MAC address?

A MAC or Media Access Control address (sometimes referred to as a hardware address) is a unique identifier assigned to each active device connected to the network. According to the Ethernet standards, every network card or interface is supplied with a 6-byte MAC address. MAC addresses identify frames' senders and receivers. It is supposed that the network administrator will not have to configure the MAC address when a new computer or another device is added to a network.
