How many additional drives can be used on a dedicated server?

It is possible to use up to 10 drives on dedicated servers. The number depends on your plan.

The EX, PX, BS, RS, HPS, AL, BL, CL, ZEN, and AMD-64 servers have two pre-installed drives. It is possible to add up to 2 HDD, SSD or NVMe drives.

The AMD-249, AMD-299, and ZEN-174 have two pre-installed drives. It is possible to add up to 6 SSD or NVMe drives.

The PX-92, CL-129, and AMD-100 servers have no drives by default. However, you may install up to 8 HDD, SSD, or NVMe drives.

The DELL servers also have no drives by default. However, you may install up to 10 SSD or NVMe drives.

How can I order additional drives for a server?​

  1. Please submit a ticket to the customer care department. Our specialists will give you a list of available drives with prices and issue an invoice.

  2. Once the invoice is paid, please schedule the drive installation in the same ticket.

    Important!

    Once the invoice is paid, the Data Center will receive an installation request. To complete the installation, we will have to turn the server off for 10 to 20 minutes.

  3. Once the installation is completed, we will let you know in the ticket.

Can I replace the pre-installed drives with other ones?​

It is possible to replace pre-installed HDD, SSD, or NVMe drives (applicable for the servers in the EU only). However, you will have to pay an extra €15/month for extended setup (flexi-pack) + the cost of the drives themselves. The replaced HDD, SSD, or NVMe drives are not refunded.

Important!

To avoid data loss when one of the drives is out of order, we recommend using them by pair. In this case, we combine them into one RAID-1 unit by default. When ordering only 1 additional drive, you will have to confirm that you are aware of the risk, and you will have no claims if your data is lost.
